What needs separate agreement
Colour run already in the rug, moth damage and worn pile cannot be repaired by cleaning. Some antique or fragile rugs need specialist off-site care.

What to expect from wool rug cleaning
Why wool needs a different method
Wool is absorbent and can shrink, felt or release dye if it is over-wetted or cleaned too hot. We use a lower-moisture approach suited to the rug and test the dyes first.
Hand-knotted, tufted and flat-weave rugs
Hand-knotted rugs, tufted rugs with a glued backing and flat weaves each behave differently. Send a photo of the back of the rug so we can identify the construction.
Fringes and edges
Cotton or wool fringes can brown or tangle if treated like the pile. We clean them separately where needed.
Size, stains and odours
Tell us the size, any spills or pet accidents and what has already been used on them, so the quote covers the full treatment.
